Browser Use website

What is Browser Use?

Browser Use is an open-source agent harness that lets large language models control a browser to complete tasks and extract data. Its GitHub repository has passed 90K+ stars. The company also operates Browser Use Cloud, a paid API for stealth and anti-detection browser sessions at scale. Magnus Muller and Gregor Zunic founded it in 2024, took it through Y Combinator's Winter 2025 batch, and raised a $17M seed round in March 2025 led by Felicis Ventures.

Our verdict

The open-source harness gives teams direct control over LLM-driven browser automation and has drawn a large GitHub following. But the stealth and anti-detection handling needed for reliable production runs sits behind the paid Cloud API, not the free tier. It suits teams willing to orchestrate agents and self-host, less so those wanting a turnkey no-code tool.

Categories:

Agentic automation tools give an LLM control of a browser to navigate, click, and fill forms toward a goal, rather than following a fixed script. They are newer and less predictable than selector-based scraping, but they handle sites and workflows that are hard to hardcode.
