What is SerpApi?
SerpApi is a paid API that returns structured JSON from Google and more than 50 other search engines and platforms, including Bing, Baidu, Yahoo, Yandex, DuckDuckGo, Google Maps, Shopping, News, Images, and Trends. It runs full browser execution with JavaScript rendering and CAPTCHA solving behind a global proxy network, then parses results into organic listings, Maps, Shopping, and Knowledge Graph data. The company is based in Austin, Texas, and states SOC 2 Type II, SOC 3, and ISO 27001 certifications, plus a US legal shield for scraping activity that covers up to $2M on higher plans.
Our verdict
SerpApi spans more engines and result types than most peers, which makes it a reasonable default when a project needs Google organic results plus something like Maps or Shopping from a single vendor. Teams evaluating purely on price should still compare it against narrower, Google-only APIs, since SerpApi's certification stack and enterprise customer list point to pricing built for larger, compliance-conscious buyers.

SERP APIs run queries against Google and other engines and return parsed results: organic listings, ads, snippets, and local packs. They handle the proxies and parsing that make search scraping brittle, and are used for rank tracking, SEO tooling, and market research.
